Al Simmonds captured this special moment yesterday, when a pod of dolphins visited Evans Bay.

Mr Simmonds and his wife where at the bay with a friend from Canada. He snapped this photo while leaning on the sea wall next to Miramar Wharf.

"My wife remarked to our Canadian friend how we get dolphins in Evans Bay occasionally.

"Then what should happen? Dolphins in Evans Bay! A halcyon day! Lovely of Wellington City and her critters to put on a show for our Canadian visitor.
