Whimsical creatures, spirits, deamons and demigods are the subject of new exhibition at Thistle Hall.

False Idols collection of works that designer and illustrator Chris Dwan has created over the past year.

The exhibition opens on January 14 and includeds custom-made framed and unframed prints, skateboard art, colouring-in books, and lucky charms.

Dwan has taken inspiration from street art, tattoo and skate and popular culture, and reflects on a personal mythology.

"The False Idols series contemplates a world beyond our own, filled with the familiar and the bizarre.

He said  visitors to the exhibition would be able to step inside the mind of an artist and witness another world of imagination.

Dwan will be on site to answer any questions and to enter jovial discussion about a multitude of topics.
