A young soprano from Wellington will perform at Expressions' Rotary Foyer on Tuesday, November 12, at 1pm.

This will be Lydia McDonnell's first appearance at the lunch time concerts at Expressions.

Pianist Clare Derby will accompany her.

In 2010 McDonnell made it into the semifinal of Find a Star and sang live on TVNZ's Good Morning Show.

She was invited to sing on the Salvation Army Christmas album It's a Wrap 3 in which she featured as a soloist on the track Away in a Manger.

The same year she entered a Stars in their Eyes competition and made it into the final round.

Last year she was in the Choral Federation Anthem choir to sing at the Rugby World Cup matches.

She has a broad repertoire ranging from classical, light operatic and pop, to folk and traditional.

Entry to the lunch time concert will be by gold coin donation.
