I am so thankful I had the opportunity and privilege to witness the kapa haka celebration in memory of Matua Willie Wilson, at Lane Park on Wednesday, September 26.

Upper Hutt tamariki, kaiako, supporters and whanau have every reason to be proud of the performances and performers.

Now I have a heartfelt plea.

I noticed several people with their video cameras filming the school they supported.

Can these recordings be put out there somewhere for all to view?

My original thought was to approach the schools involved and ask if they could place the videos on their school website.

Then I thought that perhaps the Upper Hutt City Council, or The Leader, could collate these and proudly show an Upper Hutt dimension to be appreciated by many.

Perhaps next year someone could contribute their time to record all the performances and make the CD/DVD available.

These could then be used for pure enjoyment, teaching techniques, pride and celebration of the hard work by all.

To all who made this such a great day - kia ora. You are the best.
