Netball clubs in Wairarapa will have until the end of the month to make submissions on a proposed affiliation fee increase to be paid to Netball Wellington Region.

The fee increase was one possible option put forward at a special meeting between club delegates and Netball Wairarapa last week. Netball Wellington Region (NWR) had proposed the increase in affiliation fees for all its members to help pay off debt to Netball New Zealand incurred by the Pulse franchise netball team.

Other options put forward included whether only some teams, such as the premier one club sides, should pay an increase or if the region as a whole should make a clean break from NWR altogether.

Departing centre manager Kim Whiteman, whose role was recently disestablished, said they were now waiting on submissions from local clubs with a final decision to be made at Netball Wairarapa's AGM on March 29th.
