Two Porirua men were taken to hospital suffering from stab wounds following a fight  in a Waitangirua carpark this morning. 

Sergeant Guy Callahan said the fight, watched by a large number of people, took place about 2.30 this morning.

The two men were transported to Wellington Hospital, one suffering serious stab wounds and the other moderate stab wounds, according to Wellington Free Ambulance's John Osborne.

Osborne said the injuries were not life threatening.

Sergeant Guy Callahan of police communications said the fight took place in a carpark on the corner of Louisa Grove and Waihemo St in the suburb of Waitangirua.

Police are seeking further information from the public and witnesses to the incident are urged to contact Detective Sergeant Jones at Porirua Police at (04) 238 1400 ext 45058.
