The Fire Service is investigating the cause of a fire which damaged a kitchen at a home in Churton Park this afternoon.

Firefighters were called to the fire at a two-storey house on Derry Hill about 1.25pm.

A Fire Service communications spokesman said the fire was confined to the kitchen on the first floor of the home.

Firefighters had extinguished the blaze and would ventilate the home using pressure fans.

A fire safety officer had been sent to the home to investigate the cause, the spokesman said.
