Police have charged a man over the indecent assault of a schoolgirl at Porirua Railway Station.

Police arrested the 53-year-old yesterday and he is due to appear in the Porirua District Court today.

His arrest comes after an incident on March 28 while the schoolgirl waited for a train on a platform at Porirua Railway Station.

Police made the arrest after receiving calls from viewers who saw the case featured on an episode Police Ten 7.
