A 16-year-old boy has been injured in an accident on Titahi Bay Rd this afternoon.

An ambulance communications spokeswoman said they responded to reports of a 16-year-old boy being hit by a car on Titahi Bay Rd, in Porirua, about 4.40pm.

Paramedics were still on the scene, she said.

Inspector Ian Harris, from police communications, said police and a tow truck had been called to the scene.

No other details were immediately available.
