Emergency services were quickly on the scene when two vehicles collided outside Porirua Police Station this afternoon.

Senior Sergeant Tony Smith said one person suffered minor injuries as a result of the impact and did not need to be transported to hospital.

He said a Subaru and a Toyota Camry were involved in the crash.

One of the vehicles had ended up on its side.

The fire service was called to the scene because "one of the vehicles was leaking fluid".
