Two motorcyclists were involved in accidents just a few kilometres from each other in Plimmerton this afternoon.

Emergency services responded to the first crash on Saint Andrews Rd, involving just a motorbike, at 1.15pm, police central communications acting Inspector Bruce Mackay said.

The second accident occurred at 1.40pm on Grays Rd, when a car and motorbike collided.

Both motorcyclists had been taken to Wellington Hospital's emergency department with minor injuries, an ambulance communications spokeswoman said.
