Man escapes injury after crash

A van driver escaped a collision with a logging truck in rural Wairarapa uninjured this morning.

Inspector Ian Harris, of Wellington, said the crash happened shortly before 7.30am at the intersection of Para Rd and Moreton Rd in Wairarapa.

The driver of the van was initially reported trapped but was out when police arrived.

Though reported uninjured, the driver was taken to Wairarapa Hospital to be checked.
