Two men were found seriously injured in a vehicle at the bottom of a 20-metre bank in Wairarapa this morning.

A farmer found the Mistubishi Lancer in a paddock on Waihakeke Road, Carterton, about 5.30am.

Both men had been thrown from the car and were seriously injured.

One was taken to Masterton Hospital with moderate injuries and the other was airlifted to Wellington with critical injuries.
