Capital fog expected to clear by noon
While Wellington woke to a foggy morning, skies are expected to clear for a fine day today.
A MetService forecaster said the air mass was dry today compared to yesterday, when low cloud and fog stuck around for most of the day.
The weather would turn to a slight southerly later this morning and the sky would probably clear before noon.
''Things are improving quite a lot this morning.''
The cloud at Wellington Airport was slightly higher than the rest of Wellington.
An Air New Zealand spokeswoman said there was some low cloud around the airport, but it was not affecting operations.
The 8.10am Jetstar flight to Christchurch had been cancelled, but reasons were not clear.
