Wellingtonians can look forward to another fine weekend with sun forecast until early next week.

Duty forecaster Stephen Glassey said temperatures ranging from 20-22degC were expected to dominate the weather between today and next Tuesday.

A high of 20degC was expected today as the prevailing southerlies died out and fine northerlies would prevail through until Sunday with tomorrow's temperature expected to reach 21degC.

Temperatures of 22degC were predicted for both Saturday and Sunday with northerly winds on Sunday.

Mr Glassey said there was a possibility of a few showers accompanying a predicted southerly wind change on Monday.

But apart from that possible glitch, long range forecasters are predicting Tuesday to be a fine day with showers predicted to end the spell of good weather next Wednesday.

Lower and Upper Hutt, Wainuiomata, Kapiti Coast and Porirua were also forecast for fine weather over the weekend, with Kapiti the exception on Saturday with some cloud.
