State Highway One north of Churton Park was closed briefly today following a two-car crash in which a car rolled.

Inspector Mike Coleman said both cars were heading northbound when the accident occurred at about 11.40am.

One person suffered serious injuries in the crash and would be transported to hospital.

An NZTA spokesman suggested traffic out of Wellington could expect delays.
