Police have released the name of a young woman who died after being hit by a vehicle in central Wellington early yesterday morning.

Alix Rae Robinson, 24, was fatally injured after being struck by a vehicle on Vivian Street just after 1.30am on Sunday. Her family has been notified, police said.

The Serious Crash Unit is continuing their investigation and the driver of the vehicle is helping police with their inquiries.
