Traffic into Wellington moved slowly this morning after two separate crashes on State Highway 1 in Ngauranga Gorge.
In one accident, several cars crashed near the speed camera in the southbound lanes before 7am.
All vehicles involved were moved to the side of the road, but "rubberneckers" were slowing traffic.
Sergeant Andy Dow urged motorists to drive to the conditions.
