A car rolled on to its side in an accident this afternoon on State Highway 1 near Wellington.

The New Zealand Transport Agency issued a warning about 3:15pm that a vehicle had crashed near the bottom of the Ngauranga Gorge in the north-bound left lane.

The crash was cleared away by 4:15pm but some congestion was forecast as motorists slowed down.
