Motorists are being warned to beware of a milk spill near the entrance to the Mt Victoria tunnel on the Basin Reserve side.

NZTA advised motorists driving in the left-hand lane on Paterson St (SH1 between the Basin Reserve and the Mt Victoria Tunnel to exercise particular caution. 

A police communications spokesman said a quantity of milk had fallen from the truck and the debris at the scene had been cleaned up.
