Services on the Johnsonville train line were cancelled due to faults today for almost an hour.

TranzMetro issued cancellation notifications for services throughout this morning. At about midday, it announced train services would be replaced by buses between Wellington and Ngaio until further notice.

The New Zealand Transport Agency advised that services returned to normal by 1pm.
