The lights are back on for all but 13 properties along the Miramar peninsula after this afternoon's power cut in the eastern suburbs.

A total thirteen properties along the peninsula in Shelley Bay were yet to have their power restored, but that should only take another 45 minutes, Wellington Electricity spokesman Dave Mulligan said.

The outage was due to a cable fault in that area, he said.
