Taggers were responsible for two train services being cancelled on the Johnsonville line last night.

The scheduled 11.02pm service from Wellington to Johnsonville and the return 11.30pm service to Wellington were replaced by buses.

A police communications spokesman said the services were cancelled  after the train had been grafittied late last night. 

He said the two services were cancelled as a precautionary measure. No-one was detained or arrested.
