Three Karori men have been arrested and charged in relation to a weekend baseball bat attack that left a man who went to his screaming neighbour's aid with facial injuries.

Police said they have charged a 19-year-old Karori man who allegedly struck a Montgomery Ave resident in the face with a baseball bat after her rushed to protect his female neighbour. 

He will appear in Wellington District Court on Friday to face a charge of injuring with intent to injure and threatening to kill.

Two other Karori men have been charged with common assault in relation to the incident on Saturday night and are also ordered to appear in court that day. 

All three have been released from custody on bail until their court date.
