Name suppression has lapsed for the man charged with murdering Sarwan Lata in the Wellington suburb of Woodridge last November.

The accused is Rajeshwar Singh, a taxi driver, who was Ms Lata's estranged husband.

A trial date for Singh, 47, has been tentatively set for October. He is also charged with breaching a protection order on November 26 when she was killed in her own home.
