Ticket sales and prices have been announced for the Wellington Sevens in February next year.

The Hertz Sevens tickets will go on sale at 9am on Wednesday, November 7 for the 2013 tournament.

Tickets to both days of the February 1-2 tournament will be priced at $199 for covered and uncovered seating, with family zone tickets at a cheaper rate.

In addition, next year there will be a dedicated Rugby Zone for 2013, which will be offered to the rugby community through provincial unions, Wellington rugby clubs and Wellington rugby season members — the zone will offer a prime viewing spot for like-minded rugby enthusiasts to watch all the sevens action.

Details on the ticket packages for this Rugby Zone will be announced in the coming weeks and will go on sale prior to the public on sale date in November.

The Museum Art Hotel Costume Catwalk will be returning, with a total of $25,000 in cash prizes up for grabs.

Hertz Sevens General Manager Steve Walters said the tournament will have something for everyone.

“As teams prepare for the opportunity to win gold [at Rio, where sevens rugby will be competing], we want fans and teams alike to see Wellington as the rugby sevens capital of the world, offering the best experience on and off the field on the pathway to Rio.”

Tickets will be available through Ticketek and cover both days of the tournament.

Ticket Prices (excluding service and credit card charges):

  • Covered Seats:  $199
  • Uncovered Seats: $199
  • Red Zone: $199
  • Family Zone Adult: $149
  • Family Zone Child: $59
  • Rugby Zone: TBC
  • On sale 9am Wednesday 7 November.
