Twenty Rippa Rugby teams from around the country have gathered in the capital to represent their province on the field.
The tournament is being held at Wakefield Park in Island Bay, and will follow a similar format to last year's Rugby World Cup.
Rippa Rugby is a popular non-contact form of Rugby where players rip velcro-fastened tags off each others' waists instead of tackling.
The tournament runs from September 17-18.
