A Bledisloe Cup fanzone will hit Wellington's waterfront before this month's All Blacks v Australia test.
At TSB Arena and Shed 6 on August 24 - the day of the Test - the fanzone will feature big rugby inflatables, New Zealand and Australian themed entertainers, a rugby trophy photobooth, facepainting, giveaways and Kiwi and Aussie-inspired menus.
A Bledisloe Cup Fan Trail will lead the way to the test, featuring drumming, colour, and dancing.
Westpac Stadium is heading towards a sell-out crowd, with a limited number of tickets remaining.
"Wellington knows how to turn on a great atmosphere for big games, and although few tickets remain, everyone can experience the buzz at our indoor Bledisloe Cup Fanzone on the waterfront," Wellington Mayor Celia Wade-Brown said.
"This will also be a great venue for fans, families, and visitors to spend the afternoon leading up to the great game,'' Wellington Mayor Celia Wade-Brown said.
Details emerged today of activities planned for the build-up.
These include a Rippa Rugby Championships, an exhibition of Bledisloe Cup memorabilia on display at Wellington Airport, and a Bledisloe Cup Legends Dinner to Cure Kids featuring rugby heroes Sir Colin Meads, Sir Brian Lochore, Graham Mourie and Nick Farr-Jones at Martin Bosley's Restaurant.
