If the form book meant anything, the St Pat's Silverstream first XI football team would already be celebrating success in the premier youth competition.

The side is unbeaten in the competition, but to lift the trophy it will need to beat Wellington College in tonight's final at Te Whaea (7.15pm) in Newtown.

"It's a big chance for the boys to show that they are the best side in Wellington," Peter Hicks, St Pat's Silverstream coach, said.

Wellington College have shown that they are also coming into good form. Last Saturday in their semifinal, they fought back from a goal down to beat Tawa College 8-7 after a penalty shootout.

In the girls competition, Wellington Girls' have dominated the regional premier grade, winning all seven of their games and having scored 24 goals and conceding just three.

Their opponents in tonight's final at Te Whaea (5.30pm), Wellington East Girls', have also been outstanding. They lost only one of their seven games and that was 1-0 to Wellington Girls'.
