The Hurricanes have signed exciting young Wellington loose forward Ardie Savea for two years.

The 18-year-old will join older brother and All Blacks wing Julian in the Super Rugby ranks.

Ardie is playing in his first NPC campaign with Wellington after making his mark in the New Zealand Sevens side.

"It's awesome to be a part of the Hurricanes. When I was little I watched Jonah and some greats in the Canes jersey, so I feel very honoured to get this opportunity," he said.

Hurricanes coach Mark Hammett is excited at what Ardie can bring to his squad.

"Ardie is skilful player and we are delighted to have him join the Hurricanes for the next two years. He has great potential and we look forward to working with him to help develop his 15s career."

Will Aaron Cruden's omission hurt or help the All Blacks?

Hurt - he needs as much game time as possible.

Help - finally Beauden Barrett will get a proper run.

Hmmm - no biggie, just a temporary hitch.

Who is Cruden? I support the All Whites.
