Motu Matu'u will get his first start of the NPC season this Sunday when the Wellington Lions take on the Southland Stags in the capital.

In what will be the Lions' third game in ten days, Matu'u will start at hooker while Genesis Mamea will also get his first start at number eight.

Ardie Savea and Mark Reddish have returned to the starting 15 while new additions to the bench this week include Serge Lilo, Joe Latta and Ope Peleseuma, who will be on debut.

Kick off this Sunday is at 4.35pm at Westpac Stadium.

Wellington Lions: Jason Woodward,  Alapati Leiua, Charlie Ngatai, Shaun Treeby, Matt Proctor, Tim Bateman,  Frae Wilson, Genesis Mamea, Ardie Savea, Lua Lokotui, Mark Reddish, Jeremy Thrush (c), Jeff Toomaga-Allen, Motu Matu'u, Arden David-Perrot. Reserves: Dane Coles, Solomona Sakalia, Whetu Henry, Serge Lilo, Kayne Hammington, Joe Latta, Ope Peleseuma.
