Dodgers stalwarts Jeremy Manley and Rhys Casley are gathering pace ahead of next month's national interclub championships.
The experienced representatives sat out the national provincial championships last December after a rift with administrators.
Yesterday the pair showed they will prove a handful for opposing teams again when the club championships begin on March 13.
Dodgers produced their best form of the season in the intercity competition yesterday to thrash Poneke Kilbirnie 10-0 at Hataitai.
Manley did not give up a hit as he pitched to 18 batters. Conversely, PK's Thomas Cameron struggled as the Dodgers hitters stepped up to the plate.
Casley and team-mate Geoff Packer scored automatic home runs for Dodgers.
PK remain second in the intercity standings behind unbeaten Miramar. Dodgers are third, with Porirua City United and Giants locked in a battle for the top four with five games to play.
Miramar's David Gollan produced another resounding performance yesterday. He replaced pitcher Frank Pointon in the sixth innings as Miramar beat PCU 12-8 in a tiebreaker.
Miramar scored four runs in the eighth to break the deadlock as Gollum shut out PCU.
Miramar's James Boys hit a grand slam in the second innings, while Pointon scored an automatic home run in the fifth.
Cardinals beat Johnsonville 4-2 in a tiebreaker, while Giants also beat Johnsonville 7-0.
No games were played in the women's intercity competition, allowing Wellington games to be completed.
Miramar beat Johnsonville 9-1. Newlands showed improved form in their 1-0 loss to Miramar and then beat Johnsonville 5-3.
