WAITING GAME: Donna Wilkins is yet to announce who she will play for in next season's trans-Tasman netball competition.

The Central Pulse and Southern Steel are staying mum about the future of netball legend Donna Wilkins as the rumours begin to fly.

Wilkins, 34, is considering her playing options for next year's trans-Tasman championship and has reportedly been offered a six-figure deal to shift to the Wellington franchise.

A move to the Pulse would have other appeals for the mum-of-three.

Wilkins would be able to get the bond back with close friend and former coach Robyn Broughton, who she played under at Southern Sting, and Steel in 2009.

It is far from a sure thing - Wilkins has stated that she is not just looking at the Steel and Pulse but also the Canterbury Tactix.

Central Pulse general manager Kyla Lange would not be drawn yesterday on whether they were close to a deal or whether they were even in negotiations with Wilkins.

The former Silver Ferns shooter starred for the Steel this season after giving birth to her third child Mia in January.

It is understood she could make a decision on her future as early as this weekend.

Steel boss David Bannister is still hopeful Wilkins will be part of the franchise next season.
