GO KIWI GIRL: Supermodel Rachel Hunter is desparate to prove she's still a typical Kiwi girl.

It's Father's Day this Sunday, so where are the delicious dads? This week's gossip mags instead turn their attention to bikini-clad babes Rachel Hunter, Jennifer Aniston and Rebecca Loos.

New Idea kicks off with an exclusive interview with Rach. The Kiwi supermodel is on holiday in Fiji with her two kids and ice hockey player Jarret Stoll - and she's desperate to prove just how normal she is.

Rach arrived with no bodyguards or entourage, refused to use the VIP exit at Fiji Airport and her luggage consisted of a small shoulder bag carrying "just togs" - at least five pairs, judging by the pics.

Wow. Take away the wedding to rocker Rod Stewart, the Playboy magazine spread, the photographers capturing her every move and the acres of gossip column space she generates, and Rach is just like the rest of us.

There's another bikini babe on the cover of Woman's Day - former Friends star Jennifer Aniston. The mag claims there's a baby on the way but no, Jen's not pregnant - she's simply considering adopting a baby for Christmas.

Jen probably needs to look up the word 'Christmas' on Wikipedia. The idea is to give presents to other people - not to yourself. Talk about selfish.

WD also has new pics of Rebecca Loos - yes, she's also wearing a bikini - and her new man, a "mystery guy" thought to be a French millionaire. But Loos tells WD she misses Matthew Ridge's kids since breaking up with the Kiwi telly personality.

"I was close to his children," she says. "I feel like I let them down when we broke up." New Zealand's gossip writers also feel let down, Rebecca. Who else can we rely on for a decent scandal?

Perhaps the real reason for Loos leaving Matthew can be found in a photo of her new man that sneaks a peek up his fluorescent board shorts. That's quite a bulge you've got there, buddy.

Thankfully, there's a smidgen of Father's Day coverage scattered elsewhere. WD has a photo spread of doting Hollywood dads, while NI goes one better and ranks them in a top 10 list - predictably putting Brad Pitt at No.1.

But Woman's Weekly tops them all by putting an actual father on its cover. What a novelty.

That dad is Shortland Street's Michael Galvin with his cute-as-a-button one-year-old daughter Lily. It seems his job on the hit Kiwi soap gave Michael unrealistic expectations about the birthing process.

"She was certainly a lot messier and more covered in blood than the babies that are born on television," Michael tells the mag. "They come out clean and well-formed on Shortland Street."

Somebody's been on Shorties just a little too long.

Also hitting the headlines this week:

  • Controversial Kiwi girl and Shane Warne fan Coralie Robinson continues to make her country proud by claiming to have had "sordid phone sex" with Spice Girl Mel B's new husband, Stephen Belafonte. "He's so sleazy. He was planning to wed Mel B and cheating on her with me," NI reports. Australia, do you want to take Coralie off our hands? Maybe we could swap her for Russ?

  • Dominic Bowden says Shane Cortese "saved my bacon big-time" after replacing him at the last minute on an episode of Intrepid Journeys. Bowden cancelled after deciding his ego was far too big to appear on the TVNZ show when he landed a presenting slot on The Next Great American Band. Dude, remember your roots.

Finally, the quote of the week comes from former Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker: "I used to spend 18 to 20 hours a day filming in heels. Now I spend a much shorter day in them and I'm like 'Ow!' My knees are shot."
