Britney Spears walked out of a Californian petrol station without paying for a cigarette lighter and the troubled star later admitted it to photographers, it has been reported.
Gossip website TMZ.com reported Spears walked out with the lighter, and when waiting photographers asked her if she'd paid for it, the singer replied: "I stole something. Oh, I'm bad."
According to British tabloid The Sun, petrol station owner Jatinder Kaur won't be pressing charges.
"Yes, Britney stole a blue lighter here last night," Kaur said. "The lighter is $1.39. I'm hoping maybe the next time she comes back she will pay for it.
"I know she can afford to pay for it, but I'm not planning to file a police report. It's still not right for her to steal the lighter."
It is not the first time Britney has reportedly not paid for something.
Last month the singer allegedly walked off without paying for a wig from a Hollywood sex shop, and she was also accused of stealing four coats from fashion designer Katja Berglund.
In July she allegedly stormed off a photo shoot with US magazine, OK, wearing US$15,000 of designer clothes and jewellery, which she never returned.
