Lily Allen to help judge Orange book prize

She joins a panel chaired by broadcaster Kirsty Lang. The other judges are novelist Philippa Gregory, writer Bel Mooney and journalist Lisa Allardice.

The shortlist for the £30,000 prize, set up in 1996 to promote female authors, is announced in April and the winner picked in June.

Previous winners of the prize which consistenly stokes controversy among literary critics, include Zadie Smith and Andrea Levy.
