Actress Minnie Driver is reportedly pregnant with her first child.
The 38-year-old was spotted outside a Los Angeles baby clinic looking at sonogram images with a friend last week.
A source said: "She is absolutely thrilled. She has always wanted to be a mother, she'll be fantastic. Her family are so pleased."
The British star also called her boyfriend, known only as Matthew, outside the surgery and talked about "getting blood work done".
She then added to her pal: "Matthew tells me I should be quiet so no-one hears me."
Good Will Hunting star Minnie previously dated Matt Damon but was reportedly dumped live on The Oprah Winfrey Show.
She has also been romantically linked to John Cusack and was rumoured to be engaged to magician Criss Angel.
However, they broke up last May following claims he had left her for Cameron Diaz.
A friend said at the time: "I really can't believe this has happened to her again. It's so cruel and she doesn't deserve it, she's a great girl but she always seems to pick the wrong guy.
"I was so happy for her when I heard Criss had proposed - she was very ready to settle down and start a family before it's too late. Now I am worried that she will give up on men forever."
In 2001, she split from fiancé Josh Brolin and has subsequently revealed her relationship with Josh's stepmother, Barbra Streisand, was difficult.
