BEST DAMN THING: Avril Lavigne is reportedly pregnant after the pop star was seen shopping for baby clothes.

Avril Lavigne is reportedly pregnant with her first child.

The Sk8er Boy singer and husband Deryck Whibley were spotted shopping at Los Angeles baby store Petit Tresor on Monday as well as exclusive boutiques Kitson for Kids and Lisa Kline Kids.

During their spree in Petit Tresor, the couple reportedly purchased a cheetah diaper bag, baby AC/DC T-shirts and a pacifier holder.

The 23-year-old star also appeared to be shielding a possible baby bump by hiding her stomach with a large bag, according to photo agency x17.

Avril recently denied rumours she was expecting, insisting people are always making up stories about her.

She said: "Remember in high school when people would start fake rumours about you? Well, this isn't high school - it's like the entire world."

Avril began dating Sum 41 star Deryck in 2004 and got engaged a year later after he proposed during a romantic trip to Venice, Italy.

The couple - both from Canada - married on July 15 2006 at a private California.

Avril recently posed for a raunchy photo shoot for Maxim magazine.
