Big Day Out organisers have emphatically denied that reformed rap-rock act Limp Bizkit will headline next year's touring music festival.
Australian newspaper The Herald-Sun reported the band, which recently reformed for a series of European and US tour dates, was heavily rumoured to headline the Big Day Out festival in 2010.
But a statement issued by festival co-producer Vivian Lees to the paper, and reported by FasterLouder.com.au, denied the rumours.
"Limp Bizkit will definitely not be performing on the January 2010 Big Day Out series, or any other Big Day Out shows anywhere, ever," the statement reportedly said.
Limp Bizkit headlined the 2001 Big Day Out festival, but caused controversy for not stopping their set earlier when a 15-year-old was crushed. She later died in hospital.
Other bands heavily rumoured to perform at the 2010 event include Grizzly Bear, Blink 182, Eminem, Passion Pit and Muse.
The first official announcement is due on September 29.
