MUM'S THE WORD: Oscar winning actress Charlize Theron says she is ready to have a baby.

Charlize Theron - who has been dating fellow Hollywood star Stuart Townsend since 2001 - thinks it could be the right time to welcome a new addition to her family.

She told In Touch Weekly magazine: "I've been thinking about becoming a mom for a couple of years now. My biological clock is ticking, but it hasn't gone off yet. I couldn't hope for my career to be going any better, and I have found the great love of my life in my relationship.

"I think we're ready to start having kids running around the house. I'm ready to take on the responsibility of motherhood, and Stuart is the man I want to share parenthood with." Charlize, 32, isn't the only celebrity to have joined in the baby boom.

Jennifer Lopez recently gave birth to twins, Max and Emme, with husband Marc Anthony, while Christina Aguilera, Nicole Richie and Halle Berry have also become mothers in recent months.
