Rihanna is to play a dominatrix alongside Samuel L Jackson.
The singer has long spoken of her desire to branch out into film, and has even taken acting lessons to help her hone her skill. She has now won a part on new movie The Last Dragon, a remake of the 1985 film about a boy on a quest to become one of the best martial artists in the world.
Samuel will star as the evil Sho'nuff in the movie, and Rihanna is thrilled at the prospect of working with him.
"She has landed an incredibly challenging role alongside Samuel L Jackson. But it's not a part for the faint-hearted," a source told British newspaper The Daily Mirror. "She will play a super sexy, super kinky dominatrix in the martial arts flick."
The 21-year-old has apparently been asked to fully research her role before shooting begins, and is contemplating spending time at a fetish club for inspiration. "She has been told to look into the role - and this could well include a trip to an S&M dungeon."
Rihanna recently said she was planning to broaden her horizons this year. She doesn't want to be known as just a singer, and would love to have several different careers.
"There is so much I want to do. I would love to try my hand at acting. I just want to keep getting better," she said. "I'll hopefully be making movies and having something to do with fashion as well as making music in years to come."
