Fans eagerly anticipating singer Mary J Blige's New Zealand visit this month will have to wait longer than planned, after the tour was postponed today.

Citing weariness from an overwhelming tour schedule, Blige's management confirmed the Australia and New Zealand tour had been pushed back until November.

In a statement Blige said she was disappointed that she would not be able to make it to Australia and New Zealand as planned.

"I want to thank all of my wonderful fans who supported the announcement of my first tour in these countries and I can't tell you how excited I was to come down in June and put a show on for you all.

"Postponing these shows has been an extremely difficult decision for me and I am sincerely sorry that I will not be able to fulfil my tour commitments, but I assure you that the November shows will be worth the wait."

The R&B star was set play at Auckland's Vector Arena on June 16, and Wellington Town Hall on June 17.

Chugg Entertainment said all tickets purchased for the June concerts would be valid for the rescheduled shows, and advised anyone wanting a refund to go to website www.chuggentertainment.com.

Full details about the rescheduled dates would be announced at the end of the month.

I'm gutted. But we've more shot at a good show if she's well rested. I wonder if seating will still be the same for the re scheduled concert. I'm taking my daughter and we are in the middle 4th row. shes so excited.

I have to say I was upset when I first heard about the postponement but I'm so glad it's postponed and not cancelled! I can't wait till she gets here. It will be a fantastic show to be sure.

When i heard that Mary was comming to NZ i wasnt trying to get to excited just incase it didnt happen. And as soon as the tickets were on sale me and my girlfriends all got front row seats to the Wellington show and i was so stoked. I booked flights to Auckland for that show also as ive been a Mary J fan for a really long time. We got t shirts made with Mary J Blige on them and even went as far as making a banner wich said thank you for comming to nz we love you so im really hoping to see her here in November.

I would be gutted if she cancelled! I think Mary J Blige is an all-time great artist! I have waited so long to see her so I guess I will just have to wait longer. Maybe she should come here and have a holiday and relax rather than work.

fair enough. I wouldn't watch someone physically drained trying to put on a concert.
