SHE'S COMING HOME: Billy Bob Thornton claims his ex-wife Angelina Jolie is going through 'a phase' with Brad Pitt and will one day return to him.

Billy Bob Thornton claims a story in which he reportedly slammed Angelina Jolie's relationship with Brad Pitt and claimed the actress will one day return to him is a fake.

Thornton - who married Jolie in 2000 after meeting the actress on the set of Pushing Tin, but divorced her in 2003 - was reported as saying Jolie's relationship with Pitt was a passing "phase".

"She's just going through a high school phase," Askmen.com reported Thornton, 52, as saying.

"You know, dating the quarterback of the football team with Brad Pitt over there. She'll be waking up from that dream in no time.

"Who knows if I'll be there when she's ready to come to her senses, though."

But a spokesperson for Thornton said: "He never said it."

Jolie, 33, and Pitt have been together since 2005 and have a daughter together, along with three adopted children.

Jolie is pregnant with twins and expected to give birth any day now.
