Controversial teenager Demelza Reveley has won this year's Australia's Next Top Model final after apologising for bullying another contestant on the reality TV show.
The 16-year-old was announced as the winner during the live final at Sydney's Luna Park, beating 21-year-old Sydney student Alexandra Girdwood.
Despite being one of the most controversial figures on the show as the head of a group of bullies, the Australian public voted her the clear winner.
Before the announcement, Reveley apologised for her behaviour.
"Alamela, I'm so sorry for how I behaved on the show and I want you to know that," she said.
In one episode, Reveley brought Alamela Rowan, 17, to tears by water bombing her and tipping water on her head.
Off screen, Rowan said the bullying was much worse, with Reveley and a couple of contestants putting condoms filled with mayonnaise in her bed and chilli in her breakfast.
The judges were divided and the final decision came down to the public vote.
Vogue editor Kirstie Clements said she preferred Girdwood because of behavioural issues with Reveley.
Dressed in a strapless silvery purple dress, Reveley looked slim after losing 10cm off her hips since filming wrapped up two months ago.
Fashionista Girdwood wore an edgy black dress and tights.
Reveley wins a year's contract with Priscilla's modelling agency, and could now follow in the footsteps of last year's winner, the runaway success Alice Burdeu.
She also becomes the face of Napoleon Perdis cosmetics, has a fashion shoot with Vogue and a new car.
Reveley said she was shocked at her victory.
"The fact that I won is just insane and I can't believe it," Reveley said.
She said she was looking forward to going to New York and had also learnt from her mistakes on the show.
"I hope it (the bullying) is something we can move on from," she said.
"I know Alamela and I have."
Reveley said she would be "partying hard" tonight, adding that she wouldn't be drinking because she was underage.
The event was hosted by judge Charlotte Dawson after Jodhi Meares pulled out following a poor performance last year.
All 13 contestants gathered onstage at the event, strutting their stuff in front of guests including Ian Thorpe and designers such as Peter Morrissey.
Meares was featured in packages and wished both girls well.
