The Emmy Awards got off to a raunchy start as supermodel Heidi Klum had her clothes ripped off her, while Ricky Gervais chimed in with an awkward speech.
Klum had her tuxedo removed by Emmy Award hosts Tom Bergeron and William Shatner, revealing a pair of short shorts, as part of a skit for the opening of the Emmy Awards.
Shortly later, there were a few nervous laughs in the audience as Ricky Gervais stepped up to present an award.
He pointed at Steve Carrell sitting in the front row and asked for his Emmy award from 2007 back, which Carrell had accepted in his abscence.
Gervais said: "I made you. You were a nobody. Give me it back," before saying he was going off script, jumping off the stage and tickling Carell.
Carrell initially refused, then pulled the trophy out from under his seat.
Politics were high on the agena at the Emmys, with Jon Stewart making this joke: "I really look forward to the next administration whoever it is.
"I have nothing to follow that up with. I'm just saying I really look forward to the next administration whoever it is."
And co-host Howie Mandel had this to say about his preparation for the presenting role: "We are like on Sarah Palin's bridge to nowhere, that's where we are right now. The government can't even bail us out of this.
"We have nothing."
