Hollywood stars seem to have hit a wall this week, parading down the carpet in a series of uninspiring outfits.

The only exception is Katie Holmes, who took matters into her own hands and designed her own dress.

Everybody on the red carpet of Tropic Thunder wanted to know who had designed Katie Holmes' dress - it turns out that Katie herself came up with the idea for the navy gown with the leather pleated bodice.

Apparently, fashion design is not something she wants to pursue full time - unlike her BFF Posh - but if her film career continues to nose-dive it's something to consider.

Amy Adams usually sticks to darker shades when it comes to the red carpet, so it was refreshing to see her wearing a peach strapless gown at the premiere of Tropic Thunder.

Jaime King's outfit choice at the premiere of the new animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars was uninspired - a black skirt with a white shirt. Perhaps it was washing day.

Also dull and boring was Kim Kardashian at the premiere of the Disney Channel movie The Cheetah Girls One World. The self-styled 'It' girl appears to be trying to look more respectable and less like a Playboy centrefold.

But what on earth was Jamie-Lynn Sigler thinking when she chose to wear shorts and a poufy peach top at the Madden NFL 09 VIP Premiere party?
