BABY NAME GAME: Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale have called their newborn daughter Zuma Nesta Rock.

Pop star Gwen Stefani and her husband Gavin Rossdale have welcomed the birth of their second child, a son they've called 'Zuma'.

Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale weighed 3.77 kilograms when he was born at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, the couple's publicist Dave Tomberlin said.

Stefani, 38, and Rossdale, 40, already have one son, Kingston, aged 2.

"Kingston, Gwen and Gavin Rossdale welcomed the newest member of their family," Tomberlin said in a statement.

"Mother, baby and family are all happy and healthy."

Stefani - a chart-topping solo pop star and member of reformed rock band No Doubt - recently told In Touch Weekly she was "in a race" to have another child. She also said her husband was "super into being a dad".

Rossdale told People.com the couple planned to get a gift for Kingston so he didn't feel left out when his new sibling arrived.

"Apparently when the baby comes home, you've got to bring a really good present for Kingston," he said.

Rossdale described parenting as "terrifying and exciting and brilliant".

The rock singer also has a daughter with fashion designer Pearl Lowe.

Stefani and Rossdale, who gained fame in the British rock band Bush, married in 2002.

Dont hate on Gwen or Gavin... It is their child and they have the right to name their children whatever they want. If Zuma is what they they wanted I say go for it. Gwen Stefani is very diverse and Im sure named him that because of the fact it is an african name. I say go girl and keep making those beautiful babies <3

That is such a horrible name it's almost child abuse! I'm sure it's hard enough for the children of celebrities to have normal lives but with a name like that they have no chance.

I think zuma nesta rock is an interesting name. I think different names are great....I named my daughter desdia when she was born and I did'nt care if anyone else liked it or not......good job mom and dad:)

Zuma is an awesome name! Im sick of all the Ashleys and Brittanys and every other name that 50 billion people have. My daughters name is Nehjza and no one in the world has that name. Boo hoo if you dont like it. You will never meet the kid anyway!!!

What is the deal with celebs naming there babies such stupid names? What happens when someday they hate all the attention they are getting form being the child of <insert name> and on top of that they have a crazy name? Or even worse their parents are now washed up crack heads and these poor kids have to go to school and explain who their parents used to be and why they have a name like Zuma or Inspector!

Hahaha it reminds me of that Mazda ad zoom zoom zoom! Oh well the kid will be famous no one will tease him. I personally think its a unique name:)
