Start spinning around, pop fans - Australian starlet Kylie Minogue is coming to New Zealand to perform for the first time.

As was heavily rumoured earlier this week, the pop princess will bring her full stage show to Auckland's Vector Arena on December 8 as part of her X2008 world tour.

In a press release, Kylie said: "I'm so excited to finally be able to bring my show to New Zealand. This will be my second visit but my first concert performance and I can’t wait to see you all there."

The two-and-a-half hour stage show is a NZ$24m production that has already travelled to 21 countries across Europe and has been seen by more than half a million people.

It includes a full wardrobe by Jean Paul Gaultier, and has received rave reviews.

"Kylie is actually a pop genius," said Britain's Independent about her July show.

“Kylie's X-rated show is pop perfection," said Metro.co.uk. "The Grand Canyon, the Pyramids, Uluru, and then there's Kylie."

Kylie first made her break on Aussie soap Neighbours, before launching a pop career with the singles I Should Be So Lucky and Locomotion.

She is known for a series of sexed-up singles, including Spinning Around, Slow, Can't Get You Out Of My Head and Chocolate.

More recently, Kylie successfully overcame breast cancer before relaunching her career with last year's album X, and the single 2 Hearts.

She was awarded an OBE by Prince Charles in July for a "lifetime of music-making". In 2001 she launched a lingerie line, and recently guest-starred in an episode of Dr Who.

Tickets for the Auckland show go on sale on September 9 through www.ticketmaster.co.nz.

Pre-sale tickets are available from September 5. Visit www.frontiertouring.co.nz for more details.

Who's concert will New Zealanders most likely watch?? Well given that Kylie has TWO sold out shows at Vector Arena, while the double billing of Alicia Keys AND Jordin Sparks still has tickets available I think the answer to your question is now clear - KYLIE MINOGUE!

sorry let me try and clear the air, what i meant to say was song in the top 10 that were of her own.... i mean its like saying that Atomic Kitten had all these top hits in NZ when really they just sang the song in a more hip hop way and wore sexy clothes....?!?!?!

kello Kylie should ring a bell!

well cheers!

well well well, i didnt mean to offend anyone but hey lets look at the facts.

a couple of years ago Dave Dobbyn (sorry for the spelling)peformed the week before the Black Eyed Peas (including Fergie)and for some reasons i thought that because nz has a love for Dave that his concert will be sold out just like that, HOWEVER that didnt happen and ater i attended the Evita in Wgtn we walked past the michael fowler where dave's conocert was and it said "door sales avaliable" which can only mean one thing.!!

anyway im not comparing the two (Keys - Minogue) no way there is now comparison, just that whos concert are NZ most likely to go and watch!!!!!!.

anyway thanbks for the reply!!! :)

You don't score more than two dozen hits over 20 years without people liking you!

She's always featured on gossip pages too, and anything she does makes huge headlines.

And to Timba - you may not think she is good live (obviously you've seen her to make that assumption) but the millions of people she's performed in front of probably beg to differ, otherwise she wouldn't be one of the world's biggest touring acts, unlike your namesake Timbaland.

....what? do people in NZ actually enjoy Kylie? I don't know of a single person who likes her music. I thought she was only liked in the UK. I'm shocked to discover she has fans here.

If you were with me now, What kind of fool, Did It Again, Breathe, Please stay, Your disco needs you, Butterfly, In your eyes, Love at first sight, Slow, I Believe in you, Giving you up, Wow, In My Arms, The one - all hit singles, all of which she's had a hand in writing...

Get your facts right. Elvis didn't write his songs, neither do Cher, Celine or Whitney Houston , yet they're still talented in their own way.
