Tickets for Kylie Minogue's first ever New Zealand show sold out in 19 minutes this morning, prompting the Aussie starlet to put on a second show to meet demand.

Tickets for Kylie's first show, on Monday, December 8 at Auckland's Vector Arena, went on sale this morning at 9am, but sold out in 19 minutes.

Tickets for a second show the night after, on Tuesday, December 9, are on sale now.

Prices range between $99 and $149.

Promoter Michael Gudinski said Kylie would be thrilled to hear the show sold out so fast.

"She’s very excited about touring New Zealand for the first time, and I know she’ll be thrilled to hear how fast the concert sold out.

"Kylie's X2008 tour is her biggest production yet.  She continues to lift the bar for artists everywhere with the size and quality of her shows."

Kylie, whose career began with a stint on Aussie soap Neighbours, is one of the world's biggest pop stars, thanks to a series of hit singles including Slow, Spinning Around and Can't Get You Out of My Head.

More than half a million people have seen her current two-and-a-half-hour show, which features Imax-sized video and floor screens, dazzling Jean Paul Gaultier costumes, and production to rival her last visit to Australia on the 2006 Showgirl Tour.

It has received rave reviews from critics in the UK and Europe.

Tickets to her Australian shows in Melbourne and Sydney sold out in just two minutes, and an extra show has been scheduled in each cities.

I saw her in Switzerland a few months ago and it was well worth it - a really amazing show with incredible sets, choreography, costumes and really unusual arrangements of the songs. Would urge anybody thinking about it to go along.

I am a New Zealander living in London and saw Kylie about a month ago. One of the best concerts/shows EVER. She was absolutely brilliant.

Most shows in NZ are canceled not for any other reason than slow ticket sales. Promoters pay the artist/group a fee and if they will not recoup their investment, would rather pay a smaller cancellation fee than lose millions. I don't know the circumstances of the Christina cancellation - maybe something to do with her being pregnant ? Illness is often cited as a reason for cancellation - but far far too often ..... call me cynical I guess.
