Actress Leighton Meester, best known for her role as Blair Waldorf in the TV show Gossip Girl, has been named the hottest star on television.

Meester, a 22-year-old actress born in a Texas prison, beat Hayden Panettiere from Heroes and Madeline Zima from Californication for the title in FHM Online's list.

"As bad girl Blair Waldorf in this year’s breakout hit Gossip Girl Leighton Meester has stolen the spotlight with her mind-blowing good looks and amazing performance," said FHM Online US Editor JR Futrell.

Gossip Girl screens on Friday night on TV2 in New Zealand. It's re-scheduling to a 10.30pm led to an outcry by fans after a story posted by Stuff.co.nz.

Other stars named in the top 10 were Jamie Lynn Sigler from Entourage, Summer Glau from The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and Eva Longoria-Parker from Desperate Housewives.

The US version of comedy Kath and Kim topped FHM's list of shows most likely to be axed

As well as Kath & Kim, which stars Molly Shannon and Selma Blair,  FHM Online forecast Stylista, Do Not Disturb, Crusoe and The Ex List were most likely be cancelled.

Maybe they should create lists based on age, e.g, 40+, 31-40, 21-30 etc. Almost all of the girls on this list are either under 20 or just over, what about the TV women that are around the 30-40 mark, who's the sexiest of those?

I must admit, some of those girls really should not be up there... I could think of several girls from Australia and New Zealand tv shows that are better looking.

She goes by the name Marvey King but her real name is Tanya Horo. She's a great singer too :)
